About Me?
So you would like to know a little bit about who you are willing to see for marriage counseling, right? Well, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Florida (Lic.#MT 3144). That means I specialize in couples and family work. Couples are my absolute passion to work with.
What do I know about marriage?
I am married to an amazing man. We are raising three children ages 11, 8, and 2 in a blended family. We are working hard on making sure they grow into good citizens. We understand the struggle of trying to keep a marriage alive when you have children and careers to pay attention to! I would like to think we do a pretty amazing job at it. However, just being married does not qualify me to help you through the issues you are struggling with. My specialty training is in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Gottman Therapy. This is the most effective evidence based couples therapy that currently exists.
Talking to people as a career choice?
I grew up as an ARMY Brat and lived all over the country. I was born in Germany (however I speak no German, sorry!). Due to my constant relocations as a kid, I have found myself able to talk with multiple types of people very easily. I was told that I was easy to open up to my entire life, which led to me thinking, “Hey! I could probably get paid for this listening thing!” Well… it turns out I could! This led me to working on my Masters degree at Nova Southeastern University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been seeing clients since 2010 and have found couples give me the most joy to help. Watching those moments where the couple realizes they are on the same page after years of arguing is one of the best feelings there is in the professional world.
